Who doesn’t love the romantic free spirited loveliness of a well designed Boho interior? What’s not to love?

There aren’t any hard and fast rules to employ in this romantic eclectic style. Like neutral walls…go for it. Love color…that’s fair game as well.

Feel free to mix and match…modern pieces with vintage pieces. Mix textures and prints for added interest to your space. The boho culture is all about celebrating artists and free spirits. Add accessories that have a global appeal and show off the cultures you want to visit or if you’ve been fortunate, have already visited, for a great conversation starter.

Use natural or raw materials like wood, rattan, sisal, leather or hemp. The modern look is supported by the metal, further example of mixing textures.

Boho interiors calls for plants which is great for indoor air quality…BONUS!

See below, I’ve created a conceptual boho modern living room that has the boho elements as well as more modern pieces for a clean more grownup style to the boho whimsical style.

Pile your collection of art and travel books on the coffee table or stack them on the end table. Show off your album art, etchings anyone? Cool posters? Travel posters? Have fun and show it off. The truly great part of a Boho Interior space is the lack of hard and fast rules. Maybe that’s why I find it particularly appealing.

The minimalist selections helps achieve a clean, more streamlined and understated aesthetic. So it’s a more grown up look.

Boho interior spaces are casual.  So avoid fussy collections or materials. Floor cushions and poufs serve as both casual seating for extra guests and relaxing props to read, chill out, play Catan for world domination ;-) binge on Netflix, or gorge on sushi at the coffee table.
